The walls we build
The walls we build are created and then forgotten.
They’re left standing, like ancient ruins once abandoned and now preserved.
We’re left to walk around them and through them, but certainly not over them.
The walls we build stand in our way.
Rather than tear them down, we reinforce them with our

Concerning us with the least of things in order to make the most of these walls.
What then shall you say?
No they don’t exist.
No you’re wrong.
No the walls are meant to be there.
Or yes.
I see them.
I am aware of them.
I understand the walls for what they are.
The walls we build often protect us as much as they attack others.
The walls we build protect us from those that seek to attack us as those that seek to attack us build walls to protect them from those that seek to attack as well.
Reading through a maze is one thing.
Roaming across an empty plane is another.
One seems to present a challenge.
The other seems to present an unobstructed view.

Still, more walls are constructed and put in place in order to put others in their place.
What’s one more wall for one more box for one more person?
Again we run through this maze
Maneuvering around the walls we build
Distinguishing between the beginning and the end.
We run into each other along the way, building more walls in the process.
Maybe to prevent us from going in their direction.
Maybe to remind us that we ought not see the other side of their wall.
The walls we build seek to build us as we build them.
The walls we build dismantle us as we dismantle each other.
The walls we build find no firm foundation aside from faith.
What then shall you say across from this wall of ours?
